Data Protection Specialist


We are looking for a Data Protection Specialist to join our growing global business to support the company's compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The successful candidate will report to the Group’s Data Protection Officer. The specialist’s responsibilities include advising on compliance with GDPR and local data protection laws, monitoring adherence to GDPR standards, acting as a point of contact with our colleagues and managing data subject requests. You will also contribute to policies that support compliance with legislation and deliver GDPR training to our staff to increase awareness of data protection measures.

There will be time to grow into the role, and training and support will be provided. We’re looking for someone that can have constructive and purposeful conversations with colleagues and translate legislation into positive actions. Some knowledge of the law is required, but a positive attitude, willingness to collaborate and desire to grow professionally are essential.

With offices in the UK, the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Israel and Lithuania - there will be an opportunity to work with our colleagues in different jurisdictions and gain a knowledge of how a major company works.

In this role, you’ll get to: 

  • As part of a data privacy team: oversee & monitor compliance with the GDPR, as well as with local applicable data protection legislation & regulations & the company internal policies & procedures;
  • Help & support colleagues in technology, product, operations, fraud-prevention, compliance;
  • Support the delivery of training to colleagues;
  • Help with audits;
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for information or advice regarding data protection issues;
  • Conduct research on changes to the law & guidance from authorities.
  • Translate that research into practical policies & procedures that will support our compliance goals.

What we're looking for:

  • 1+ yrs of work experience in data protection or a closely associated field;
  • Expertise in national & EU data protection laws & practices &/or an reasonable understanding of the GDPR;
  • Integrity & high professional ethics;
  • Proficient English & Lithuanian (both written & verbal);
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with all levels of the organization;
  • Law degree would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of data processing operations in the finance sector is preferable.

Monthly salary  from 1800 Eur (gross before taxes). Specific salary is offered based on competence, work experience, and compliance with other job requirements.
